Family reunions. When you hear that phrase, many things probably come to your mind. I know many different pictures show in my mind when I think of my family's reunions. Does your family have a reunion? If so, what does it consist of? Do you bar-b-que, have a more formal meal, or gather at a family member's home?

Yesterday we had the wonderful opportunity to have a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. The ceremony took place at our newly refinished gazebo, while the reception followed in our beautiful Drawbridge room. Our Executive Chef made a delicious dinner of Roasted Chicken Breast Marsala, Rosemary New Potatoes, Green Beans Almandine, The Stone Castle House Salad, and dinner rolls.

For our recent 250-person military banquet, we received a wonderful compliment in our emails this weekend. Please read below to see how much this reunion enjoyed staying, playing, and eating at The Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center.

"I wish to take this opportunity to thank you and the staff of The Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center for allowing us to experience the best reunion we have had to date.  Our attendance consisted of 123 veterans.  With family and friends, we had 250 attending our banquet dinner.

This past weekend we hosted two large military reunions. We thoroughly enjoyed having them in our hotel, as well as serving them delicious meals! We served a 250-person banquet Saturday night that went off without a hitch. The veterans loved the food, the service, and the memories made during the event.

The veterans sure had some wonderful stories of their sacrifices, camaraderie, and love for their country. Never had I seen a grown man break down before Saturday night.

On April 26, 2011, a new ownership and management group assumed the reigns of Stone Castle Resort and Conference Center.

There will be many new amenities offered in the near future.  But we are starting with upgrades to the breakfast.   We now have a full breakfast including eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and pancakes.  Of course, we still have cereal and oatmeal, milk, juice and coffee.
